The Drum understands that the Scottish Government's Marketing Services Framework accounts held by Barkers Scotland will be re-pitched "in due course".

The four PR accounts held by Barkers Scotland on the Framework for Race, Science, Ageism and Flu will be reviewed and following the review, will be appointed to other roster agencies.

It is thought the same will be true of the Race advertising account held by the social marketing division, although at a later stage.

The move has been made neccessary following the closure of Barker's social marketing and PR divisions in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Yesterday, Barkers was saved from administration by Penna plc, which has guaranteed the jobs of everyone remaining in the now predominantly recruitment focused company.

A spokesperson for The Scottish Government said: "The Scottish Government has limited exposure both financially and work-wise, and will be transferring work in hand to other roster agencies.

"We are in discussion with the Barkers Group to return any monies outstanding that are owed to Scottish Government."
