Attik launches vtravelled site for Virgin Atlantic

Leeds-based global creative agency ATTIK has worked in partnership with Virgin Atlantic to help launch ‘vtravelled’ – a new travel site.

As vtravelled.com’s design partner, ATTIK created a design language that aims to reflect the idea of dreaming, sharing and planning travel, which was central to the vtravelled.com concept.

ATTIK drew inspiration from the international language of travel to create the experience that strives to be both familiar and engaging.

ATTIK co-founder and group creative director James Sommerville explained: “Our objective with vtravelled.com was to create a visual identity which cut through the online travel sector clutter. We felt the design resonated with and engaged travellers who are knowledgeable and passionate about travel. In order to reinforce the fun side of travel, we created an icon language that visually directs users in a simple and graphic way without the need for too many words and written instructions."

vtravelled.com was developed by Vexed Digital and is powered by the Vexed community platform providing useful tools and allowing users to share their knowledge, thoughts and photos. Users land on a google map interface where they can easily navigate the world and choose where to visit. Vtravelled.com also uses a special recommendations service to suggest site content from similar users, to provide useful and relevant travel information tailored to each community member.

Lysette Gauna, creative director of vtravelled.com said: "We saw an area where travellers were being very poorly served and we like to make it our mission wherever possible to make travel more fun and inspiring. A hugely important part of that is developing a strong brand identity and design language and ATTIK have done an amazing job in creating something that has standout in a very cluttered marketplace."
