Following competitive pitches both Gardiner Richardson and Different have been appointed by Balance, the North East alcohol office.

Gardiner Richardson will handle PR while Different will take on the brand and advertising account.

Both have been working on The Big Drink Debate North East which will look to raise public awareness at the impact of alcohol on society.

The campaign will run over the summer as it aims to capture information on drinking habits and attitudes to alcohol in the North East through a questionnaire which will be available online, in the media and on the street.

The creative aspect will run across TV, press and poster.

Colin Shevills, director of Balance, explained: “Balance’s aim is not to judge or stop people enjoying a drink, but to help people find the right balance. It is clear that a change in our understanding of, attitudes towards and relationship with alcohol is required, but for this to happen a regional debate is needed.”
