Scottish Women’s Aid (SWA) which works for the prevention of domestic abuse has appointed Smarts to run a series of communication workshops for members across Scotland.

The workshops will look to assist Women’s Aid members to raise awareness of their services in local communities by creating or enhancing existing relationships with partner agencies and key audiences. SWA has created a new DVD and publication to help its members get the message out. The Changing Lives material will be launched at the workshops and members will be advised how to utilise these and develop their communications skills.

The agency will also provide a keynote presentation at the annual Scottish Women’s Aid ‘Promote to Protect’ members’ conference on 3 June in Glasgow.

Susie Fraser, director at Smarts, said: “We welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience with Scottish Women’s Aid and its members.

Communication and engagement is a vital part of their work and we are confident that this work will go a long way to ensure they continue to develop their profile and ultimately continue their life changing work.”
