The brand for cultural area of central Salford, Chapel Street has been rebranded by Creative Concern following a multi-million pound regeneration.

Following a tender process, the Manchester agency was appointed to develop the brand for Chapel Street last year and saw it begin the process by researching the area to get a feel for the district.

The new brand aims to in some way reflect the branding for the city of Salford – which uses also magenta.

The colours used for Chapel Street brand are plum and green and the design is based around a grid of streets. Words are used to form the grid design to communicate the key messages – ‘beautiful, vibrant and prosperous.’

The first phase of the brand roll out will see hoardings go up at sites in Chapel Street such as the former pub Ye Olde Nelson pub and Boniecki motors which has now been demolished as well as Shalimar newsagents which is owned by Salford City Council.

Helen Thomas, senior designer, said: “The hoardings also feature an information panel outlining the development plans for the area and these will be updated accordingly.”
