Eight regional agencies have been appointed by Camelot to aid its London based press office with consumer PR for the National Lottery.

The agencies selected to aid the office are Paver Smith, 3x1 Public Relations, Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger, Effective Communication, Townhouse Communications, Tribe, Blue Zebra and Robin Walsh to operate in their local areas.

Paver Smith has been made responsible for the north west with some overlap into North Wales while 3x1 will handle Scotland.

Kathryn Williamson, Camelot’s head of press and publicity, said: “Regional PR is crucial for Camelot – with over four million winners created each week.”

The agencies will work with Camelot’s in-house team to manage press conferences for winners who opt to take publicity. They will also manage regional consumer PR campaigns such as the promotion of unclaimed prizes, game launches and support jackpot rollover activity.

It is understood that incumbent, Paratus Communications, did not re-pitch since Camelot decided to take the management of its regional PR in-house.
