Warwick Conferences, part of the University of Warwick's commercial arm, has appointed WAA to devise and manage a three-year marketing strategy.

The Sutton Coldfield-based agency will also handle market research and database activity.

Warwick Conferences hosts over 4,000 events and welcomes 200,000 delegates a year to its three purpose-built centres, Scarman, Radcliffe, Arden and the main campus, Conference Park.

It used a tender process, which 16 agencies responded to, before WAA and three other unnamed agencies made it through to a final competitive pitch.

The agencies were asked to demonstrate how they would increase new business sales, open Warwick Conferences into new markets, raise its awareness in the marketplace and demonstrate ROI.

Jacqui Lennon, managing director of WAA said: “WAA has a 16 year history of working with other parts of the university. The synergy between both organisations was always excellent and we knew we could bring some sound strategic thinking to Warwick Conferences' challenges within the conference sector.”
