Nation1 is looking to add two senior members to its team following the departure of its managing director Victor Brierley.

Andrew Grant, founder and managing director of Nation1 told The Drum that he was looking to split the role vacated by Brierley into two with a financial director being sought alongside an experienced digital project director.

Grant said: “Given that our client base is now 100% digital, it is essential, going forwards that we have a team in place with a proven track record in that space. We have now successfully recruited Scotland’s best digital talent. I regret the decision to let Victor go, however I have to do what is best for the agency and our clients. I wish him well for the future and look forward to sharing a few beers with him soon. He is a great guy.”

Meanwhile Brierley explained his departure as one that was mutually agreed between himself and Grant as the two were unable to agree the way forward for the agency. “I was more intent on creating a viable proposition for the agency in Glasgow, while Andrew is more intent on taking over the world.”

Brierley joined the agency last August having previously headed up design agency The Hub.

The move comes as the agency appoints Mark McIntosh as creative director, joining from Drivebusiness where he headed up the creative team.

The agency has also hired a development team responsible for the design, build and marketing of the Allsaints.com e-commerce site; Brian Coit, David McCart and Luke Henderson.

Colin Boyd has also joined the team from Equator in a part time capacity where he will overseein SEO/PPC and affiliate marketing.

David Lawson has also joined as email marketing manager.
