Sportswear brand Umbro has appointed Gratterpalm to handle a marketing campaign which will promote its teamwear catalogue to amateur football clubs, colleges and universities.

The Leeds-based agency will to handle the campaign following the agency’s design and marketing of Umbro’s teamwear catalogue last year.

Gratterpalm will now create an A5, 64 page catalogue illustrating Umbro’s football teamwear range for 2009/10 which is scheduled to be mailed out to teamwear purchasing decision makers at Umbro’s amateur clubs database, which includes 15,000 FA charter standard amateur teams. Schools, colleges and universities will also be targeted.

The catalogue will be mailed out from May.

Steve Rhodes, teamwear manager, at Umbro, said: “Last year’s catalogue was a great success with orders outstripping expectations, particularly on the web, which is a key sales channel for us. In some areas, sales from the catalogue even doubled without the support campaign. We’ve asked Gratterpalm to build on this work with a more concerted campaign for this year.”
