McCann Erickson Birmingham has announced the arrival of two senior copywriters and confirmed that a 'high-profile non-executive creative director' will be joining its team.

The agency confirmed the appointments of copywriters Alex Fraser and Vineet Raheja and said that an announcement would be made on the non-exec creative director “in the coming weeks”. The agency has also begun searching for a new creative director, following previous incumbent Paul Baker's move to WAA last August.

Fraser has worked as a copywriter for more than 15 years, for agencies in the Midlands (Cogent, Grey Midlands) and London (TBWA, Ogilvy, McCann Erickson, Grey London). Recently he has worked freelance on brands including MTV, Ford, Hovis and Pot Noodle.

Raheja joins from Leeds-based Brahm, where he worked on the likes of Warburtons, Yorkshire Building Society and learndirect. He also worked closely with Brahm's digital sister agency, Swamp, on clients including Ribena, Umbro and BUPA. Prior to that he worked at Bates in London.

McCann Birmingham's chief executive, Dean Lovett, said: “Alex and Vineet join McCann Erickson with a real wealth of experience and represent tremendous additions for the agency, as we look to make significant investment into our creative offering.

"With the imminent appointment of a new non-executive creative director and the summer arrival of a new creative director, this looks set to be an exciting year for the agency."
