The Drum has learned that recruitment communications company TMP Worldwide has restructured its UK operation which has meant that 70 jobs have been lost.

It is understood that 50 roles were lost out of London while another 20 were shed around the company’s UK regional offices, many of them thought to be in the various creative departments which will now be handled through the central London office.

The redundancy consultation process ended on Friday after a five week period.

TMP has 10 offices around the UK in Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham and one in Dublin.

As part of the restructure, the Scottish division will see its Glasgow office closed with the five members of staff transferring through to join the Edinburgh office.

The Scottish creative team of three, including creative director Guy Gumm (pictured), have now left the company having been part of the London office’s budget.

Steve White, general manager of TMP Scotland, told The Drum: “TMP in total has had a headcount reduction across the business which has affected every office in the country due to the current trading conditions which are well down for all agencies. 460 of us in total in the UK, of which there are 70 jobs going across the country. 50 of those will be in London and 20 in the regions. Four of those were in our Scottish team. We will over the course of the coming year close our Glasgow office, but all of the staff in the Glasgow office will transfer to Edinburgh.”

White went onto say that he hoped to hire a new creative team when the budget is made available to him again in the future.

Meanwhile, a new creative digital team of eight is being recruited by TMP to work in Manchester which has moved into a new office.
