Tennent’s has announced that it has chosen to cancel running The Tennent’s Mutual blaming the current economic climate for its decision.

The music event which looked to empower the audience to decide who they wanted to see was in it’s first year and had attracted over 8,000 members which resulted in gigs which included Glasvegas, Hot Chip, Teenage Fanclub and King Creosote.

In correspondence to all of it’s members it was announced that The Tennent;s Mutual was to be disbanded but that Tennents would continued its annual T in the Park event and its sponsorship of the Scottish Football Team.

“We're extremely proud of what The Tennent's Mutual achieved, and we're really disappointed to wind up what was a truly innovative, exciting undertaking. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to the thousands of you who got involved with The Tennent's Mutual,” the announcement read.

It also announced that it had raised £47,014.86 for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy - a charity which provides access to, and develops awareness of, music therapy across the country.

Anyone with queries about the move has until noon today to ask them on The Tennent’s Mutual forum.
