Bristol-based E3 has launched a new microsite for automotive firm Kia, to help raise money for Comic Relief.

To launch Kia's supporting partnership of Red Nose Day 2009, the automotive firm has launched a limited edition Picanto Red.

To support this launch, Kia is running an online competition to win a Picanto Red and raise money for Red Nose Day.

Kia’s competition microsite, created by E3 – which will support its Red Nose Day supporting campaign – will encourage entrants to go online to register details for the chance to win.

Upon entering the site, car owners will also be actively encouraged to get involved in the Red Nose Day event.

First, owners must take a digital photo of their Car Nose then visit the site, register their car details, and then upload the photo to the gallery, with users encouraged to rate photos in the gallery.

The most inventive photo will be chosen for ‘Car Nose of the day’ everyday, and every user who registers their car’s details will be entered into the free prize draw to win the Picanto Red.

Stuart Avery, E3 managing director, said: “This competition site was the perfect platform on which to include user generated content. Outside of this marketplace users have become more sophisticated, many experiencing two-way communication, including personalised content and engagement. Kia wants to embrace this richer experience for their users and the Red Nose Day partnership provided the perfect opportunity.”

The site also includes a dedicated ‘About Picanto Red’ area, where prospective buyers can see hero shots of this limited edition model, and research OTR price and vehicle features. There is also brochure request and ‘find a dealer’ functionality.

The site will go live on today and the winner will be notified on March 16.

Lawrence Hamilton, general manager marketing, Kia Motors (UK) Limited commented: “We are exceptionally proud to be involved with the great work of Comic Relief and it gives us the opportunity to give something back. We’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal but I’m confident we can achieve our fundraising target of raising a minimum of £100,000.”

Furthermore, for all sales of the Picanto Red sold between 29 January and 13 March, Kia guarantees to give a donation of £100 per car to Comic Relief. As part of the sponsorship, dealers are expected to raise at least £1000 towards Red Nose Day. They will be holding events such as comedy nights, car washes and many other fun events to raise money for this great cause.
