Yorkshire Water has launched a new consumer site, created by Leeds-based Swamp, to mark the beginning of an extensive digital campaign.

Leeds-based Swamp was appointed by Yorkshire Water after a five-way pitch early last year. As well as creating the utility firm's new website, the agency has also developed a bespoke content management system.

The new site enables Yorkshire Water customers to pay their bills and submit meter readings online, and report leaks or inform the supplier of a change of address.

It also promotes recreational activities - including walking, watersports, cycling and wildlife watching - which are available on the land and reservoirs Yorkshire Water owns.

To help prospective employees get a flavour of what it is like to work at Yorkshire Water, the site's careers page features blogs from current members of staff.

Paul Mallett, strategic director at Swamp, said: "Yorkshire Water is a highly prestigious name in the utilities industry and its marketing team has given us some interesting and forward-thinking plans to work on for the next two years. Swamp is relishing the opportunity to transform these plans into a bright digital future for Yorkshire Water."

Jane Herbert, brand and customer communications manager at Yorkshire Water, added: “Yorkshire Water needs to provide first-class communications for our consumers and this new web site provides a destination enabling them to interact with our brand on numerous levels."
