Multimedia students at Nottingham Trent University will test their skills in the marketplace through a partnership with PR firm - BCS Public Relations.

The final year students will work with BCS to help the firm increase its multimedia offering to clients – while providing work experience as they move towards their final assessment.

The agreement will see the BA (Hons) Multimedia students – based in Nottingham Trent University’s School of Art and Design – helping to deliver video material for BCS clients.

BCS already has its own TV channel and YouTube offering, and is keen to expand its services.

“We’ve been searching for a suitable partner for quite some time, and after virtually trawling the entire country are thrilled to have found such a brilliant solution literally on our doorstep,” said BCS managing director, Brian Dolby.

He said: “A pilot project has already proved an amazing success and this partnership will now give us the chance to explore other multimedia options for our clients, while giving the students an excellent opportunity to show what they are capable of.”

Simon Perkins, multimedia programme leader at Nottingham Trent University, said: “We have a great reputation for turning out high quality graduates, and this partnership builds on that by giving the students the chance to produce a portfolio of work generated in a real working environment.

“Aside from just putting into practice what they have been learning, they will get the chance to interact with BCS account managers and customers, and this will be invaluable in preparing them for their future careers.”
