Alton Towers appoints new head of consumer marketing

Staffordshire based family resort Alton Towers has appointed a new head of consumer marketing.

Mike Meredith has been appointed to the role to replace Rebecca Farrer who departed to go on maternity leave.

Meredith will report to Morwenna Angove, the resort’s sales and marketing director and will be responsible for the marketing, promotions and PR with a strategic focus upon improving awareness of all elements of the resport including its waterpark, spa and golf facilities.

Angove said:“We are delighted that Mike has decided to join our team at such an exciting time. 2009 will be a challenging year as we continue to drive awareness of our Resort and embed the repositioning activity begun earlier this year. Mike will play a key role in developing our reputation as Britain’s No 1 escape for unlimited family fun, through communication of the fantastic variety of rides, attractions and experiences our Resort offers”.
