McCann Erickson's digital team in Manchester is to create the website for Aldi's new travel offshoot - following the news broken by The Drum that the agency was to handle the marketing for Aldi.

While the offer will offer holidaymakers affordable travel the site also offers accommodation at selected locations with the site going live in January.

Commenting on the creative development for Aldi Travel, Keeley Lee, digital account director said: “We are developing a creative and engaging site that sits well within the Aldi brand and its portfolio of websites. The Aldi Travel site will offer the best value deals to the most popular destinations through a trusted retail brand, providing holidaymakers with peace of mind when travelling abroad.”

Weber Shandwick's Manchester office is handling the public relations account for the Aldi Travel.
