3M has appointed Inbox as digital agency for its Consumer and Office business, which includes the Post-it brand, following a four-way pitch.

The appointment comes as 3M looks to expand the appeal of Post-it beyond the business audience and grow the retail channel by making the Post-it Notes and Index ranges everyday neccessities.

Inbox is tasked with developing a digital strategy that will re-engage end consumers with the Post-it brand on an emotional level, reinforce differentiation and increase awareness of the full product range.

The first campaign will launch early in 2009.

Matt Ramsay, MD at Inbox, said: "Our initial challenge is to leverage the popularity of Post-it Notes to expand usage across the range and further into the home.

"The thrust of our strategy will be about using digital channels to engage, interact with and entertain this already expanding audience, creating an emotive connection with them that will then provide a long-term platform for communication and relationship building to drive sales."

Inbox, a member of the Digital Marketing Group, has offices in Swindon and Bristol.
