Leeds digital agency MadeByPi has created a showbiz website for Sony BMG’s new artist Andrew Johnston.

Fourteen year old Andrew became an overnight sensation after his unforgettable rendition ‘Pie Jesu’ in front of an audience of 14 million on the second series of Britain’s Got Talent.

He recently signed a record deal with SyCo music, Simon Cowell’s division of Sony BMG. The launch of the debut album, ‘One Voice’ achieved number four in the album charts in its first week.

Phil Clandillon, Sony BMG’s, digital creative manager comments: “At Sony BMG our websites need both great creative execution and excellent technical attention to detail. We look forward to working alongside the agency on future web projects including a brand new site for Rhydian launching next week (runner up in last year’s X Factor), and Escala from Britain’s Got Talent.”

The site - www.andrewjohnstonmusic.com - leverages the fan base and distributes content on the latest gigs, releases and activities across social networking sites including Facebook, You Tube and popular online music retailers. It is also designed to drive sales of the debut album.

Karen Lewis, account director for MadeByPi said: “The site makes use of strong imagery and typography. Because it is fully content managed, we can offer instant news, music and video updates for fans; something that is paramount in the entertainment business. Users can have discussions in the forum area and offer feedback on news and diary entries, making the site truly interactive.”
