The Daily Record has launched an online fitness club in partnership with Get Well Fitness.

Dailyrecordgetfit.co.uk creates personalised fitness programmes for users in just a matter of minutes.

The fully automated "personal trainer" system was developed by Get Fit Wellness at a cost of over six million pounds.

Over the last five years leading exercise physiologists, coaches and world-class athletes contributed their expertise to help develop the hi-tech system.

Lorraine Fraser, newspaper sales and marketing director Daily Record & Sunday Mail Ltd, said: "This is a pioneering and exciting website that works and acts just like a personal trainer but for a fraction of the cost.

"It is a great motivator to help you get in shape and once you are up and running you can continually monitor and adapt your progress.

"Whether you are already into fitness or not, whether you can invest hours or minutes the Daily Record Get Fit club will create a personal, achievable programme."

Users fill in their personal profile and fitness and the software then works out a suitable programme.

The website includes a 10-step introductory tutorial film, a 3D animated human figure that allows the user to highlight areas of the body to work on and video instructions on how to perform each exercise.
