Pagoda PR has been appointed as public affairs consultants to First ScotRail, Scotland’s main train operator.

The brief involves supporting the company to develop open relationships with its political stakeholders through a targeted plan of public affairs activity. The contract will also require work at a group-wide level in Scotland.

Carol Harris, First ScotRail’s Head of Communications said: “We have succeeded in building our reputation as an accessible organisation and as an expert in our field. While our stakeholders acknowledge that we have made real progress, there is more to be done through open dialogue and creating a better understanding of our work.”

“First ScotRail has a good story to tell, particularly as rail travel will play an important role in tackling the climate change agenda”, explained Pagoda Public Relations managing director Ian Coldwell.

“We are excited to be working with the company to strengthen their relationships with stakeholders and pursue new opportunities for partnership working.”

Ian Coldwell will oversee the account, with Emma Beeby as account manager and Keith Geddes as policy advisor.
