Financial investor Aegon has announced that is has consolidated all of its marketing with The Leith Agency, on an initial two year basis.

The move follows a six way pitch involving several agencies thought to include Newhaven, Story and Tangible Communications which acted as the clients roster agencies.

As a result, Leith will be responsible for Aegon’s trade press advertising creative as well as its corporate communications work.

The first campaign of the newly created Aegon brand was launched in 2006, with the company looking to build upon its brand recognition within the UK.

Steve Clode, marketing director for Aegon commented; "The appointment of Leith is a significant move for us as we seek to bring the AEGON brand to life in the UK market. Leith impressed us with their creative direction and their ability to challenge our thinking in where we take the brand next.

Clode continued; “Our aim is to help our customers identify with AEGON, and to make the brand stand out in a market where many customers find it difficult to differentiate between the key players. We have major ambitions for the brand and we are looking forward to working with Leith as we move forward."

Richard Marsham, managing partner of The Leith Agency, said,"We're delighted to win the Aegon account. Not only are they one of the UK’s largest providers of life insurance and pensions, it's also a brand that's full of potential. Potential that we want to help them realise. And it's great to see such a large piece of business coming to the Scottish market place."

It is also understood that the client will announce a new sports sponsorship partner this week.
