Manchester-based BJL is adding a head of planning to its growing team. Lisa Tomlinson will join the 75-strong agency from McCanns where she has worked for four years.

With a range of experience panning a cross-section of clients and industries, her CV includes American Express, IBM, Open University, Royal Mail, Littlewoods and Booths and Social Marketing expertise in areas such as Cancer, Obesity and Mental Health.

She is currently still at McCanns, serving out her notice period, and is expected to join up with BJL in around three months' time.

Tomlinson will join a four-strong planning team at BJL working across a range of private and public sector accounts.

She commented on her move: “Broader liberty of thought and action is what an independent agency like BJL allows planners to do. The opportunity to deliver greater insight and inspire colleagues and clients alike is wonderful. I am looking forward to joining the team.”

Nicky Unsworth, MD commented on the addition to the agency: "Insight is highly valued at BJL so finding someone to head up our growing planning department was always going to be a crucial appointment.

"We saw lots of candidates but Lisa alone had impressive experience at the highest levels in Public and Private sectors. The leading planning role she played on accounts such as Intercontinental Hotels, Center Parcs, UPS and the NHS make her the perfect fit for our client base. We are delighted she has chosen to join the team at BJL."
