Festivals Edinburgh, the organisation behind 13 of the city’s festivals, is launching a search for both a brand agency and an ongoing communications agency as it approaches the launch of Edinburgh Festivals, a new ‘umbrella communications’ brand.

A number of agencies across the UK are to be invited to compete in a creative pitch, as the festivals prepare to implement its marketing planning strategy, which was compiled by Leithal Thinking over the last six months.

Following the creation of a brand, which will begin immediately following the appointment of the brand agency, the winning communications agency will create marketing materials using the new branding.

The branding project will see three agencies pitch following a credentials request.

The winning agency will be appointed on 3 October and will work with a budget of £22,000 with a deadline of 20 November for the work to be completed.

For the marketing account, a credentials submission is to be sent out and requested for 19 of September, while three agencies will be asked to pitch with the appointment made of 12 October.

An annual budget of £200,000 will be available for communications work across PR, advertising, DM and CRM.

The client is also seeking a head of marketing and a marketing manager.
