The Scottish Sun is launching a new marketing campaign highlighting the paper’s commitment to football coverage and investment in Scottish football.

The £500,000 campaign, created by The Union, features numerous TV commercials airing from Saturday 16 August and running until the end of October.

The ads feature a mobile ‘Scottish Sun Terrace’ that travels the length and breadth of Scotland, giving fans a platform to express their passion for the game and their team. The campaign carries the slogan, “Your game. Your paper.”

The ads will run on STV with 60, 30, 20 and 10 second executions, and will be supported by an outdoor campaign of 48 sheets, 96 sheets, Glasgow underground panels and washroom panels in pubs and football stadiums.

Carol Wyper, brand manager for News Group Newspapers in Scotland, said: “This campaign is the next stage in our plan to consolidate our position as the number one selling and most loved newspaper in Scotland.”

The Union were appointed to create the campaign after a competitive pitch against three other Scottish agencies. Media planning and buying is being handled by Feather Brooksbank.

Ian McAteer, managing director at The Union, said: “The campaign aims to cement the bond between the football fan and The Scottish Sun, and the mobile Scottish Sun Terrace is a great way to get the message across.”
