Driven has been appointed to produce paint brand Crown's 2009 Colour Guide following a recent pitch against two undisclosed north west agencies.

According to Crown, the Colour Guide is used by millions of people each year when making paint choices. Driven will now create an all new version to be launched next year.

Driven directors Graham Drury and Nick Brookes were understood to have enjoyed a hands on role with the Crown account while working at previous employer BDH\TBWA (now TBWA\Manchester), which is the paint firm’s lead creative agency.

Drury said: “The new Colour Guide solution is really fresh and will work harder towards Crown’s challenge for leadership of the paint category. We’re absolutely delighted to be the chosen agency partner.”

Sally Heppenstall, marketing manager at Crown, described the Colour Guide as a “key piece” for the East Lancashire business and said it was “a huge influencer in a consumer’s decorating journey”.

She added: “Driven showed us ideas to develop the Colour Guide’s potential, based on clear consumer insight.”

Driven was launched in February 2008 by the ex CEO, MD, creative director and brand director of TBWA\ Manchester – Neil Griffiths, Nick Brookes, Chris Lear and Graham Drury.
