Following a year-long review of its design roster Glasgow and Birmingham-based D8 has been added to the BBC’s slimmed-down list of agencies.

D8 joins 999 and Elmwood both of whom have been retained by the broadcaster on the new, 17-strong list – reduced from 25 agencies previously.

The slimmed down roster, which has removed the likes of Agency Republic, Attik, Wolff Olins and Tullo Marshall Warren, is split into three categories: brand strategy, brand identity and marcomms.

D8 now joins 999, Blast, Red Stone, Studio Output, Love Creative, Harriman Steel, Designate, Premm, Elmwood, Easy Tiger and Inferno in the marcomms category. This will include work on annual reporting and reviews; tactical campaigns such as posters, postcards, leaflets, events and exhibition materials; product packaging; consumer publications and information design; internal publications, newsletters and in-house copywriting.

Meanwhile, 35 Communications, Fallon, The Partners, Lambie Nairn and Red Bee have been appointed in the brand strategy & identity categories.

Tim Davie, the BBC’s director of marketing, communications and audiences, said: “This new BBC design roster enables us to work with the widest range of design talent in the UK delivering top quality and highly creative campaigns for our audiences.”
