Liverpool’s Finch nets badminton championships
Liverpool-based agency Finch has won a full creative pitch to handle the brand identity for two international badminton events coming to the north west.
The agency is working on the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships, coming to Liverpool’s Echo Arena from 9-15 February 2009. It is the first time a world class badminton event has been hosted in the city.
The Individual European Championships will be held a year later, in Manchester’s MEN Arena in April 2010, the first time the events have been split this way.
Adrian Hill, head of communications at Badminton England, said the split into mixed and singles events a year apart presented a new challenge in terms of marketing.
“Holding the event in two locations over two years has presented a challenge in terms of how we communicate and promote the Championships so we needed to develop this with an external agency who has the right branding experience.”
