The coveted Grand Prix gong and The Ray Sale Chairman’s Award were won by companies north of the border at the Roses Advertising Awards 2008.

The night’s big award, the Grand Prix, was scooped by National Galleries of Scotland, while Edinburgh-based The Union won The Ray Sale Chairman’s Award for its work for Project Scotland.

It wrapped off a prolific evening for The Union, which took home an impressive haul of Awards including eight Gold prizes. While fellow Edinburgh agency Leith was also left sporting an impressive tally of prizes, amassing six Gold Awards across the evening.

In England, Connectpoint, Clear Marketing and Love all collected multiple Gold awards.

Connectpoint won a Gold for its work for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and a further two for a campaign created on behalf of wood care specialist, Sadoline.

Love, meanwhile, picked up Golds for National Literacy Trust and Silver Cross, while Clear was presented with two Golds for its Airtours work.

Other Gold winners included And Partners, TBWA\Manchester, McCann Erickson Communications House, RBH, The Mob, The Lab, Poulters, Cogent Elliott and Campbell Rowley.
