Wakefield-based retail marketing group, Bezier, has announced an agreement to purchase London agency Coutts Retail Communications.

CRC has a turnover of c. £17million and employs 130 staff operating from sites in London, Thurrock, Paris and Bielefeld. Clients include Disney, Red Bull and 3.

Following the announcement, Bezier chief executive, Mark Shaw, said CRC's Soho office would give the group its long-awaited capital base and the agency's sites in France and Germany would offer a "crucial" European presence.

News of the proposed acquisition comes as the group rebrands to tie all its agencies into the Bezier family. The firm wants to stress its retail marketing credentials to retailers and brands.

In other news, 2006 Bezier acquisition, Leeds ad agency Poulters, has been subject to much industry speculation of late suggesting managing director Gary McCall had been shown the door by the parent firm.

A Bezier spokesperson clarified McCall's position as being "proposed as redundant" but otherwise insisted it was a private matter.
