Ambergreen has announced the acquisition of Edinburgh based digital agency, Lightershade.

Internet marketing is the fastest growing sector of advertising, worth £1.9bn in the UK alone.

Founded in 1997, Lightershade’s clients include Aegon Asset Management, Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking, Event Scotland, Scotia UK and VisitScotland.

Tino Nombro, managing director of Ambergreen, explained; “This acquisition strengthens the holistic search marketing service we offer our clients. It greatly enhances our implementation capability, a key tool to support our growth in the search sector. One of the biggest issues for all search agencies is ensuring that strategies are effectively implemented. This move will create new opportunities for Ambergreen and further enhance our position as on the UK’s top search agencies.”

Dr Aydin Kurt-Elli, Lightershade board director, said: “This is an exciting time for Lightershade’s team and clients alike. Lightershade’s business model was always very different from that of Lumison and the rest of our group, so by joining with Ambergreen, they create a powerful new force in the market and extend the scope and range of services available to their clients. I believe that these businesses have a great fit, and the deal marks a significant new stage in Ambergreen’s growth.”
