Pete Bastiman has joined forces with brand consultancy Tsuko alongside the forner senior team from 1576.

The team comprises creative director Pete Bastiman, account director Louise Arnold, senior art director Simon Phillips and planning director Rob McLeod, who has returned to Tsuko – which is run by his wife Susanna Freedman – as an executive research and planning director after nine months as head of strategy and planning at 1576.

The move has enabled Bastiman to keep his team together. The agency now hopes to offer a new communications service, based around the combined expertise.

Pete Bastiman confirmed: “Joining forces with Tsuko was just the sort of opportunity I was hoping for. I was determined to keep the team together and be part of something new.

“Working with Tsuko will enable us to offer a cohesive approach to communications which is still quite rare in the industry in Scotland. From one core team of experts, we will be able to create brands, package them, market them and advertise them – all from a solid base of quality research and experienced brand know-how.”

Susanna Freedman, managing director of Tsuko said: “We are delighted that Pete and his team have joined Tsuko. The perspective and the opportunity that they give us as a brand consultancy and design and digital agency are both refreshing and energising. They will help us realise our ambitions for the company.”
