Reid joins board of the EIFF

Sharpe out at VMLY&R

David Reid, managing director of 1576 has been elected to the board of The Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The Festival which celebrated it's 62nd birthday last year, is the world's longest running film festival and this year moves from it's traditional August slot to June.

It is expected that the change of date will enable the Festival to come into it's own as the only show in town.

Speaking of the appointment, David said: "Obviously it's a big honour to be asked to be on the EIFF's Board. They have a superb internationally acclaimed brand and naturally I'll be looking to add some experience and knowledge in terms of helping them market that.

"There is a fantastic team at The Festival and a very dynamic Board who really want to see film reach even greater audiences than at present. I've been a regular attendee at the Festival for over two decades now , so I'm really excited about getting involved with the challenge."
