Rob Brown, formerly PR director at McCann Erickson Manchester, has been appointed as managing director of Staniforth\\, the role vacated by Emma Chadwick in November.

Chadwick, along with financial director, Paul Chorlton, left the Manchester-based consultancy to launch their own, as yet-to-be-unveiled, PR start-up in the city.

For Brown, the move represents a return to his roots after starting his career at the then Staniforth-Williams agency. Stainforth is now part of the TBWA\\ stable.

Brown set-up and managed the rapid growth of the PR division at McCann, working with national clients including MFI and Peugeot. He has written and lectured widely on the emergence of digital PR in the last 18 months and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

He said: “I\'m joining an impressive team. I think the industry is poised to see real development at the reinvigorated TBWA\\ in Manchester.”

Tim Lindsay, TBWA\\’s UK Group chief executive, added: “Rob impressed us with his energy and passion for PR and his ideas for the future of Staniforth. I firmly believe that he is right person to guide the company into ts next phase of growth.”

Staniforth clients include Marks & Spencer, Nissan and RAC.
