Slendertone launches New Year, New You campaign

Body toning brand Slendertone has launched a new TV ad campaign, encouraging the UK public to do something different this year via its ‘New Year, New You’ strapline.

The ads, created by Manchester-based Viv-id, intend to get people thinking positively about their body shape, positioning Slendertone’s System range of products as the ideal way of taking control and getting results.

The commercial centres on the products “measured and clinical results”, showing showing consumers how core muscle groups can be quickly and effectively toned via the System range of products.

Slendertone marketing manager, Barbara-Anne Richardson, said: “2007 was a great year for the brand. Not only did we successfully launch two new System toning products, our TV advertising campaigns demonstrated real success with increase demand for products resulting in strong sales.

“‘New Year, New You’ is key time for Slendertone and an industrious PR campaign is also well underway. This encompasses a partnership to support the ATL with the UK’s leading online beauty channel Handbag.com via

editorial on the beauty area of the site, face-to-face Beauty editor sessions, and continual dialogue with all key consumer media to ensure we are featured in beauty articles that will be splashed across the media during January and February.”

She added: “We hope to be back on TV screens again during 2008 as we will be extending the System portfolio further with exciting new product offerings.”

Media buying is handled by Initiative, while Cheshire-based SASS is implementing PR activity. The TV campaign will air on Channel 4, Channel 5 and across a range of satelitte stations from 14th January.
