Peter Rivett-Jones, business development director at Poulters, is understood to be launching his own agency after completing an earn-out.

Rivett-Jones joined Poulters from Chemistry in February 2006. Previously he launched brand response agency Made With Love, which Chemistry acquired in 2003. Rivett-Jones told The Drum he was unable to announce more details at the moment, but confirmed his plans are to launch a start-up.

Meanwhile, the agency has vehemently denied rumours that it has made a raft of redundancies. Managing director, Gary McCall said: “There is absolutely not a single person being made redundant from Poulters.

“It has been quite a stable ship for some time. We have picked up a significant amount of new business over the last few months.”

McCall declined to name Poulters’ most recent new business wins, although Stockton on Tees-based online directory brand Scoot is believed to have followed Threshers in appointing Poulters as its lead agency. The double wins, both carrying seven-figure media spends, follow the agency’s £4m Miele win in August. The agency revealed it was currently staffing up as a result of the wins.

The firm currently employs in excess of 70 staff, down from a high of 140 in 2005.
