Reading Room swoops to take amaze staff
The Manchester office of digital agency Reading Room is reputed to have taken on a number of staff from Amaze, as the fallout continues from the Cheshire agency’s recent acquisition.
Amaze was acquired by Hasgrove for £600,000 two weeks ago, after the business had fallen into administration and with rumours circulating that over 80 staff had been made unemployed by the firm.
Seven staffers are believed to have joined Reading Room this week, with talk of others at Amaze considering their position.
The news comes as an industry insider told The Drum that Amaze’s financial woes were so severe that the agency was on the verge of “imminent insolvency” before Hasgrove’s late acquisition saved the day.
For Manchester-based Hasgrove, Amaze represents the latest in its growing portfolio of acquisitions, after recently adding Pavilion and Odyssey to boost its online offering.
