The Mission Marketing Group (themission) has completed the acquisition of two specialist marketing agencies.

The group, which is the parent company of Big Communications, Fuse Digital and Bray Leino, has bought the entire issued share capital of property and real estate agency Bastin Day Westley (BDW) and IT specialists April-Six.

South east-based BDW was launched in 1989 by CEO Robert Day and employs 68 staff. “Joining themission provides us with the ideal platform to take BDW to its next level of growth,” said Day. “Leveraging the nationwide coverage and service range within the group provides exciting new business opportunities and allows us to add significant value to clients’ businesses.”

April-Six, which was established in 2000 by Steve Crowther and Fiona Shepherd, has 54 staff based at offices in Harefield, Middlesex. Shepherd said: “Being part of this young, energetic yet experienced group will give us a new platform for building our global offering.

“It provides us with an ideal partner to help us develop our business further, and to offer additional services to those of our clients who have other specialist needs.”

Iain Ferguson, themission’s chief executive, said: “Our strategy of growth through selective acquisitions brings benefits to our clients and their businesses.

“The benefits of our acquisition of Bray Leino in April 2006 are already clearly evident and reinforce our confidence in our strategy to build a leading national marketing communications group.”
