The nominations for this year’s Scottish Advertising Awards – which will celebrate their 20th anniversary this year – were announced at the Awards Nominations Exhibition at Edinburgh’s Cargo bar last week.

This year’s panel of judges was chaired by John Lloyd, and included Steve Hooper, creative partner from Hooper Galton; Max Forsythe, photographer from Max Forsythe Studio; Dennis Lewis, creative partner from Ogilvy & Mather, Eugene Ruane, creative director from QMP Publicis Dublin and Kate Mulloy, executive producer from The Whitehouse.

Heading the nominations list is The Union, with a massive 28 nominations, including nominations for clients that included Scottish and Newcastle, Blackwood’s Gin, Historic Scotland and ESPC.

Also receiving a host of nominations were Newhaven and The Leith Agency. Newhaven was nominated for its work with Tennent’s Lager, The Daily Record, XFM and The Scottish Executive, among others, while The Leith Agency is also up for nomination in a host of categories, including work for Irn-Bru and, again, The Scottish Executive.

Other agencies picking up nominations were Family, IAS Smarts, The Bridge, Golley Slater, Frame, Navigator, Dog Digital, Good Creative and So Creative.

The black tie awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Adam Hills, will be held on Friday 20 October, at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh. To book your tickets contact Jo Elliott direct on 0141 559 6062 or email jo.elliott@carnyx.com.
