Dundee-based recruitment website ScottishAppointments.com has been acquired in an MBO from Scotland Online by Intermedia Publishing, the company headed up by Pat Kelly, the former head of new media at Scotland Online.

ScottishAppointments.com launched in April 2001 and now attracts around 10,000 users every week. Intermedia, which was founded in March, will run the site from its head office in Dundee, while SOL will continue to host and provide technical support and development for the website.

Kelly, MD of Intermedia, said: ScottishAppointments has been highly successful since its launch in 2001. When the opportunity for an MBO arose I had no hesitation. There is a place in the market for a quality recruitment site and ScottishAppointments will fill that gap.”

Clients of the site have included Standard Life and The Royal Bank of Scotland and an ad campaign is being planned for later in the year through The Leith and Feathers.

Kelly added: “Our immediate aim is to create a rapid increase in the number of vacancies on the website, from around 1,000 to 2,500, and to raise the profile amongst employers wishing to fill vacancies. Additionally, we will bolster our online marketing activity to ensure that job seekers keep visiting our site.”
