The Role:

We are looking for a passionate and creative Graphic Designer with a genuine love for their craft and a desire to deliver high-quality output. By owning design projects from brief through to final execution, the role will provide an in-house design service, producing outstanding work to a number of departments across both traditional and digital platforms. Collaborating with the wider Marketing team to deliver on the schools marketing strategies, the Graphic Designer will lead the way for design standards, implement new ideas, bring specialist skills and develop the quality of all creative output.

The Graphic Designer will utilise their experience and creative skills to create stunning visual work across a number of internal departments. The role will play a vital part in promoting Stonyhurst College and Stonyhurst St Marys Hall to prospective parents and pupils. They will also support the Commercial team, Development activities and on occasion Academic Teams.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Provide a high standard of in-house design service to a number of departments across both traditional and digital platforms.
Create static and animated assets, social posts, campaigns and digital emails in programmes such as Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign
Create both print and digital designs, communicating through design why Stonyhurst is the right school for families
Use programmes such as Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and animation programmes such as Adobe Premier, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Motion
Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements to execute design concepts
Liaise with external print and media companies to ensure appropriate formats, quality, efficiency and value for money services
Evolve existing creative assets so that Stonyhurst remains fresh and front of mind amongst competitors, maintaining a good understanding of our competitor set and their creative approach
Generating fresh concepts and providing recommendations on how best to approach design projects
Design projects across all platforms including print and digital advertising / marketing campaigns, email, infographics, social media, PowerPoint, internal stationary and printed marketing collateral. Experience in video (GIFs, short video content and motion graphics) would be desirable
Create and confidently present mood boards and concepts
Logo creation and adaptation

Hours of work:
This is a permanent, full time role working 37.5 hours per week.
Hours of work to be: Monday Friday 8.30am 5.00pm with one hour unpaid lunch.
Flexibility to meet service delivery needs is required.

This role attracts a salary of 28,000 - 30,000 per annum dependant on experience.

Skills Requirements

A genuine love for your craft and a desire to deliver high quality output with proficiency in both print and digital design
Ability to prioritise tasks based on deadlines and importance and able to work accurately and effectively, demonstrating excellent organisational skills along with the ability to balance multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets
Strong conceptual design skills and the ability to take direction well and understand requirements with the willingness to accept feedback on designs and refine concepts with an agile approach
Experience of delivering creative solutions for a range of business scenarios
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interpret briefs with internal departments, communicate with internal and external team members including senior management, and articulate why Stonyhurst is the right school for families
Able to work independently and as part of a team to use creative thinking to solve problems
Impeccable eye for detail and expertise in layout, typography, imagery and videography with a broad understanding of design techniques, best practice and limitations
Willingness to learn and expand knowledge to keep up with latest technologies and trends
Good understanding of the print process and technical specifications required for various printed media
Good understanding of digital platforms and requirements for different channels, file formats and sizes

Experience Requirements

A very good level of experience and ability: 5+ years of proven creative design work experience, formal design training and a strong portfolio demonstrating your experience and creativity across a variety of projects and outputs
