Working Pattern:

37.5 hours Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work

Reports to :

Head Of Marketing

Responsible for :

Multimedia output, such as video content, and ensuring that it helps the organisation achieve its key strategic success measures


Role Purpose :

To provide strategic direction of British Cycling’s multimedia, content and its delivery

Key Accountabilities :

  • To lead multimedia content strategy development and delivery
  • To provide multimedia expertise within the marketing te
  • To lead on multimedia production
  • To lead production of multimedia content, from concept to execution
  • To contribute to cross-departmental working/project groups, providing multimedia content creative expertise and insight
  • To work with Planning Lead on the timely production of design content, managing projects accordingly
  • Photography as required
  • To produce graphics content within templates as required (working knowledge of packages such as InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Work with Communications Manager (GBCT) on imaginative multimedia content which showcases the athletes, coaches and staff within the high performance pathway
  • To work with Communications and Events teams on imaginative multimedia content which showcases the events within the British Cycling portfolio
  • To work with the Commercial Partnershjp team on imaginative multimedia content which help meet partners objectives
  • To line manage the productivity and output of the Content Producer
  • To work with National Delivery team on imaginative multimedia content which tells the story of the grassroots British Cycling community
  • To manage our network of freelance sports journalists to cover domestic racing across the year
  • To provide multimedia expertise and conceptual solutions to wider briefs, using innovation, audience insight and sporting context to provide effective outcomes
  • To make suitable recommendations regarding improvements to the multimedia function and its cross-departmental relationships, presenting these to the Head of Marketing for consideration
  • To support with website updates as and when required

Knowledge, skills & expertise :

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent relevant design qualification
  • Expert knowledge in the use of Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects or similar
  • Proven experience of working in a professional multi-media role within a fast-paced and wide-ranging environment
  • A passion and interest in sport and cycling is key for this role
  • Expert knowledge of the multi-media process, from brief to execution
  • Experience of managing content distribution across social channels
  • Client facing, strong inter-personal skills
  • Line management and mentoring experience
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and prioritise tasks
  • Demonstrable experience of working with brand guidelines
  • Excellent attention to detail required
