Job Title:          EU/UK Project Manager

                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Department:   Operations

 

Reports To:      Director of Operations

 

Summary Description:

This position manages projects focused on the implementation of specific initiatives generated by the Business Management teams within the Gorilla Glue Company. These initiatives include Brand and Operational Expansions into new markets, new product launches, as well as off shelf executions and promotions via Project Co-Ordinator. In addition, this role will be tasked with utilizing existing “stage gate” style process for product development and implementing new work streams to improve communication, efficiency and visibility across all active projects.

 

This role may involve some overseas travel.

Duties:

  • Managing a Projects Team, covering NPD, Business team and Business Improvements, to support the business.

  • Line management of Project Coordinator and Business Process Analyst.

  • Lead and prepare project documents for Gate reviews.

  • Report Status updates weekly to stakeholders.

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with the project team and wider business.

  • Manage the project level risks and issues register.

  • Continue to evolve the processes and templates throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Implement project standards across all projects in the portfolio.

  • Update and administer the project plan as required using reports.

  • Manage communications, including regular reporting, and taking the lead in Weekly/Bi-weekly Meetings.

  • Prepare consolidated material from project reports for monthly review.

  • Implement the change control process across all projects and portfolios. 

  • Supporting the definition of project Business Cases (scope, goals, deliverables, costs, timescales, plans, dependencies, resource requirements and milestones)

  • Ensuring pre-scope project plan is communicated to all project stakeholders together with their individual responsibilities.

  • Providing effective management support to project teams on all projects.

  • Ensuring project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time and cost, and resource utilization is monitored.

  • Strategic Business Change

    • Utilize Project Management Methodologies to manage large scale business change.

  • New Product Development

    • New Formulations/Re-Formulations

    • Packaging Development

    • Manufacturing/Production both 3rd Party and Internal.

  • Sourcing Projects

  • Implement Process Improvement:

    • Map new, standardized process to be used for Operations Project Management activities.

    • Process to be scalable to match rapid growth (volume and complexity) of business.

    • Coordinate process and achieve buy-in across departments involved in process.

    • Process to include high visibility on status reporting, exception management and scorecards.

    • Drive implementation of new process through support of Senior Operations Management.

  • Other

    • Work across organizational lines to coordinate project activities and share information.

    • Be able to work within all levels of the organization.

    • Use a Continuous Improvement approach to Project Management.

    • Provide clear communications with Operations Department, Sales Department, Marketing Department, Customer Service, and Warehouse.

    • Must be able to multi-task.

    • Demonstrate the ability to collaboratively lead others who do not share same reporting structure.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • 3 years’ experience in project management.

  • Formal Project Management Qualification.

  • Experience with process improvement.

  • Advanced time management and analytical skills.

    Specific Skills:

  • Project Management

  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment

  • Cross functional experience including; Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Design, Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, S&OP and sales.

  • Experience of delivering different types of Projects:

    • New Product Development

    • Infrastructure

    • Software/Information Technology

    • Business Change

    • Manufacturing/Bills of Material

  • Demonstrate good judgment

  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
