Summary Description:

The Brand Manager owns the European business plans, strategy, and execution. Responsibilities include all aspects of running the daily business and the upstream innovation portfolio for European markets across our European markets primarily covering Pharmacy, Healthcare, Mass Grocery, and online channels. The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and managing a variety of critical brand building activities to increase brand & variant awareness, deliver innovation to consumers, and support key retailer strategies & executions. In addition, this person is often involved in analysis, identification, and recommendations for brand expansions and growth.

         Marketing Mastery: Vast experience developing brand marketing plans (media plans, non-media support, like social, PR, digital content).  Can manage large and complex budgets associated with expansive media plans.

         Innovation: Can connect brand strategies to innovation plans, including partnering with R&D on innovation master-planning.

       Grows Capability: Can develop marketing mastery in the brand teams – a track record of coaching and training individuals into strong brand marketers.

      Strategic: Can distill brand priorities into simple frameworks that drive behaviour for a broad set of brand stakeholders including Marketing, Sales, and R&D.

      Analytical/Integrates Knowledge: Can connect data points from diverse sets of information to form a clear story that drives actionable insights to move the brands forward.

        Uses Judgement: Can use data but also can leverage judgement and intuition based on experience to make timely and informed decisions.



        Lead current  brand across Europe.

         Set strategy for growth and manage day-to-day risks & opportunities.

   Identify upside opportunities & recommendations.

   Identify risk or weak areas of the business and proactively put in place plans to address.

        Lead New Product Innovation planning for 3 year masterplan.

   Lead evaluation processes and feed into US ideation where appropriate.

  Assess business opportunities.

   Tailor consumer concepts for EU consumer if applicable.

   Regularly liaise with US counterparts on live and future projects.

   Work with cross-functional team to develop learning plans.

         Evaluate new segment/channel entry opportunities for the brands – including analysis, landscape assessment, consumer targeting, launch strategy options with a clear recommendation.

        Execute commercial elements of initiatives, aligning cross-functional partners and management through each stage gate.

   Finalise consumer proposition (concept & claims).

  Evaluate pricing strategies.

   Lead package design strategy & briefing.

{   Develop launch plans and launch marketing plan recommendations that deliver against the initiative and brand objectives.

         Lead creative executions, from brief to live on air.

         Develop media objectives and strategies that fit overall brand strategies.

        Collaborate with Sales team to develop trade deck(s) for each major retailer as needed.

         Support Senior Brand Manager with implementing country specific action plans .

·         Develop Assistant Brand Manager and the Artwork/Packaging Coordinator to ensure they become competent in all areas of the marketing mix.





}·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desirable: Business, Marketing preferred.

·         Relevant marketing experience, preferably in FMCG.

         Marketing experience across Europe would be a benefit.


Specific Skills:

         Ability to manage multiple projects that vary in nature from strategic through execution.

}·         Demonstrated leadership skills, including abilities to envision, enroll, energise and execute.

         Strong collaborator across multiple functions & levels of the organization.

        Results-oriented approach with a willingness to bust through barriers and dive in at the detail level as needed.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills.

        Strong presentation skills.

         Retail experience within pharmacy, grocery & mass merchandising distribution channels - personal care category experience a plus.

        Analytical (data/market research) experience preferred.

         Proficient in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

     Travel Required: up to 30%.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
