Summary Description:

The European Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for developing and managing a variety of critical marketing activities to increase brand awareness, support retail marketing initiatives, and lead social and public relations for the  brand across Europe.  Specifically, this person will assist in the development of marketing materials and brand expansion initiatives in our European markets, primarily the DIY and Trade channels.

·         Grows Capability: Can develop marketing mastery in the brand teams – a track record of coaching and training individuals into strong brand marketers.

        Strategic: Can distill brand priorities into simple frameworks that drive behavior for a broad set of brand stakeholders including Marketing, Sales, and R&D.

       Analytical/Integrates Knowledge: Can connect data points from diverse sets of information to form a clear story that drives actionable insights to move the brands forward.

        Uses Judgement: Can use data but also can leverage judgement and intuition based on experience to make timely and informed decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate and support sales initiatives and executions around new product launches, core brand and product retailer initiatives and advertising strategy.

         Develop consumer and trade literature and materials to support planned and ad-hoc initiatives.

·         Assist in the development of launch plans for new product innovation, new product consumer positioning and business strategy around strategic retail and in-market initiatives.

        Take ownership of smaller NPD projects from project establishment through to launch.

       Develop and manage all marketing communication materials for retail customers and consumers for online and mailed executions. Support the Associate Director with the development of all ATL communication materials.

         Coordinate planning & execution of digital, PR, and social marketing communication, programming and events through internal marketing department and agency partners. 

·         Manage all Gorilla’s web and social platforms and partner with external agencies to monitor and continue the engagement with consumers across Europe. Management includes content creation, planning and execution of all digital platforms and ensuring campaigns are integrated with PR initiatives.

         Lead Public Relations internally and manage external PR agency activity on the  brand. Work includes briefing press releases/editorial and PR campaigns. Monitor all cuttings, monitoring and updating social media networks, and preparing and fulfilling competitions.

·         Assist Tradeshow Manager in planning and attending events and tradeshow activities as needed.

      Serve as the brand contact for  brand performance and market analytics across all channels. This includes the analysis of market performance-based data.  Measure performance of marketing activities to help marketing and agency teams optimize planning and spending.

       Manage the development and implementation of artwork for packaging and displays to ensure that top quality materials are delivered in line with specification and to deadline.

·         Manage all translations for EU materials and ensure final materials are delivered as required.

      Lead weekly agency calls to progress ongoing projects.

 

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

      Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desirable; Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or Public Relations preferred.

        Relevant marketing experience.

         Knowledge & hands on experience of social media.

       FMCG brand/trade marketing.

 

Specific Skills:

         Strong leadership skills and confidence working cross functionally with colleagues at all levels to manage and complete projects.

        Results oriented approach with a proven ability to execute projects from start to finish, working through functional and business barriers as needed.

     Strong team- player - able to effectively participate and motivate others working within a team environment.

    Organised and able to multi-task in order to manage and balance multiple projects at one time.

      Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present to all levels within the organisation as well as customers.

          Demonstrates the ability to be analytical and creative when needed.

·         Retail experience within grocery &mass merchandising distribution channels.

         Proficient in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

·         Travel Required: up to 30%.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
