Our client is a small but perfectly formed marketing consultancy based in Manchester.  We're currently working for a WordPress Web Developer who has experience in front and back end development skills with good knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.  The consultancy works with some large global corporate clients providing a wide range of marketing services and with an increase in their digital services, they need to boost the team with the hire of a WordPress developer. You will work on the creation and development of corporate websites  - many clients are international so the work is varied and interesting.

To be considered for this role, we'd love to speak to WordPress Developers who have a real interest in digital and all innovations in the sector.  You'll be up to date with industry trends and you'll have an understanding of the entire web development process including design, development and delivery.  Ideally you'll have some knowledge of responsive and adaptive design, UX and customer journeys.

Responsibilities include:

Designing and implementing new features and functionality

Establishing and guiding clients’ website architecture

Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS

Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working website

Building and deploying amends to existing accounts websites alongside account manager

Consulting with clients and the team regarding varied web design projects

The technical requirements for the role include:

  • Strong understanding of PHP development
  • Excellent experience with WordPress CMS
  • Deep understanding of web technologies, including HTML 5 and JavaScript (Vanilla & jQuery)
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages

The role would suit a Web Developer who would like to work in central Manchester, be an important part of a small but efficient team and who likes to take responsibility and work relatively autonomously.  It's a sociable team and it has a close knit and strong team.  To find out more, please contact Fiona Christian.
