The Digital Census, The Drum’s annual piece of research on the digital marketing industry produced in association with the Recommended Agency Register (RAR), reviews the UK’s digital agency sector, taking a measure of its health and success over the previous year and providing a benchmark for clients.

Sponsored by Green Square, the Digital Census provides the most comprehensive review of agencies supplying digital services, highlighting the key players in terms of financial performance and client satisfaction. The census classifies agencies by digital staff size, meaning companies are ranked against only those of equivalent numbers of digital staff.

Here, you can find a snapshot of the census, as we list the results of the financial tables for each staff size group, those that have performed best on average across three criteria – digital fee income, fee income growth and fee income per head. Media agencies are ranked separately by gross billings by digital.
