Ahead of the new 5G iPhone launch later this year, EE has created a new brand campaign aimed at driving desire and demand for the technology. Using an army of ambassadors, ‘We’re 5GEE, are you?’ produced by creative, data and technology agency Wunderman Thompson UK, looks to help EE customers understand the true potential of 5G by celebrating how the technology has taken people’s passions to the next level.

5G’s capabilities are relatively unknown to customers; 50% of customers in the broader market question whether 5G is worth it and 66% of EE customers feeling indifferent. Therefore, the campaign focuses on using real people to demonstrate the advantages and encourages them to upgrade to 5GEE, the UK’s no.1 network. For instance, 'Lee the Sneakerhead' who uses faster speeds to collect limited edition trainers before anyone else. Sojourn the Skate Queen who teaches the nation to skate through seamless connections and The Ember Trio, the hip-hop cellists who instantly shared their art with their fans, even in the busiest places.

The stories are brought to life in a series of energetic 50-second films. Shot exclusively on a 5G phone, the films showcase not only the 5G technology but also the brilliance of the phone itself.
