Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, The Weather Channel visited Friendswood, TX and Big Pine Key, FL, among other hurricane-stricken areas, to say thank you and give back to the communities impacted by the 2017 hurricane season in partnership with True Value.

It was part of The Weather Channel's “Forecasting Hope,” a new charitable campaign that aims to help with recovery efforts for communities impacted by severe weather during the past year. Through a combination of fundraising and programming, the network will give back to communities and thank first responders and others in California, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Texas that are working to rebuild from catastrophic wildfires and Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

The clip shows meteorologist Reynolds Wolf with the Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department in Friendswood, TX, and meteorologist Jen Carfagno at the Boys & Girls Club of America in Big Pine Key, FL. True Value representatives presented both organizations with gift cards that will be used for recovery efforts in their local communities.
