To celebrate its seventh anniversary, Chicago-based SocialDeviant has mobilized its staff to support Random Acts of Kindness Week, which officially started Feb. 17. The agency partnered with local nonprofit H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly) to remind people of the importance of creating meaningful connections with seniors in their lives.

In addition, SocialDeviant engaged two “grannies” to share advice and stories with passers-by on the streets of Chicago via an 'InstaGranny' activation on Instagram on Feb. 22.

Two street teams at the James R. Thompson State of Illinois Building in downtown Chicago connected passers-by with a “granny” via a live FaceTime feed. The two grannies were comfortably ensconced at SocialDeviant's Chicago HQ, and shared stories and advice which was then be posted to the @The_InstaGranny page the agency created on Instagram. Advice-seekers received a fresh-baked, granny-worthy cookie, along with a printed call-to-action to pay the kindness forward.
